The property of Villa Inkognito was bought in 1753, and named Inkognito by owner P.H.Barclay, as the location represented an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Located adjacent to Sommerro, in the heart of Frogner in Oslo’s West End, Aptly named Villa Inkognito, this secluded retreat consists of just 11 rooms and suites, and is connected to Sommerro House by a small footbridge. Guests enjoy the privacy of their own space, with full access to all of the amenities and services offered at Sommerro. It offers a more private and home-like alternative to its sister hotel. Guests check-in through a hidden entrance and are greeted by their own personal host who is on hand throughout their stay.

Kids are welcome, but you’ll want to leave them behind to get the full experience. Each of the bedrooms and suites are unique. They boast opulent details and lush textiles, such as custom-designed furnishings with marquetry details recalling 19th century Norwegian motifs, bespoke hand-knotted rugs, specially designed beds, and dreamy bathrooms with custom tiles.

Villa Inkognito has its own bar, Spectre Bar, serving a selection of all-day refreshments and cocktails. As well as Ruby Room, an intimate dining space where the villa’s private chef can be booked to whip up tailored dishes—guests can also order from any of the six restaurants at Sommerro House from here. Poppy Library, unsurprisingly intimate, is lined with tobacco stained wallpaper from France—in here you can even enjoy a slice of cake from award winning pastry chefs while reading a book.
