From cosy loft spaces to lavish suites, each of its 231 rooms layer Norwegian functionalism with rich art deco details, bespoke furnishings and curated artwork that nod to the building’s brilliant history as the former headquarters of Oslo Lysverker, the city’s electrical company.

Amongst so many other things, one of the highlights of staying at Sommerro is the wellness retreat located on its own 1,400m² floor. After five years of careful restoration, Vestkantbadet opened in late 2022. An historic Roman bathhouse, now expanded with treatment rooms for health and beauty. Guests can indulge in a wide selection of massages, skin and body treatments, cosmetic treatments and express treatments, plus infrared sauna, cold plunge pool and a state-of-the-art gym with skilled personal trainers and extraordinary facilities. The hotel has a heated rooftop pool for all year-round use—the pool is the only area of the hotel not accessible by wheelchair. Additionally, guests can join in on nutritionist workshops, Wim Hof-style cold water breathing technique sessions, masterclasses with a sleep expert, and more.

Barramon is a traditional pintxos bar with small tables and dining seats at the bar. Here you'll get served delicious tapas treats that focus on the flavors of the Basque Country. Pintxos are Basque tapas, delicate flavors on a piece of bread.
