An absolute dream stay on southern Italy’s Amalfi Coast, Le Sirenuse is a family run boutique hotel in the heart of Positano, offering incredible views of the blue Mediterranean Sea and the picturesque village. A property with a deep sense of history; the hotel first opened in 1951 after four Neapolitan siblings decided to turn their summer home into a place for others to enjoy. The Sersale family had used this home to seek refuge during World War II. At the time, the hotel consisted of just 12 rooms—though it has since expanded to include 58 rooms and suites, four bars and restaurants (Michelin-starred), an outdoor pool, fitness center, and spa.

Each of the 58 rooms is a soothing, spotless realm of light. There’s a story behind every detail… even the bathroom amenities are a story written here in Positano. At Le Sirenuse, no two rooms are alike. All have a history of little improvements and adjustments, of careful, continuous curation. Each one is the hotel in miniature, a little world of Italian seaside simplicity, charm and elegance.

The hotel features four restaurants and bars, all with breathtaking views of the mediterranean and Positano itself. Aldo’s is, to quote Cole Porter, a delightful, delicious and even (dare we say it) a lovely place to while away an evening with friends or that special other. It’s a bar, a bistro, a grill, and a deli-restaurant. True to its protean nature, it spreads over a candlelit terrace that floats like a raft above the sea and an intimate al fresco lounge shaded by verdant greenery. Oysters, fresh-off-the-boat seafood, Neapolitan classics, healthy vegetarian or vegan salads and sides, followed perhaps by a tiramisù that will change your life.

Very much preserving the atmosphere of a private house, the hotel offers a range of activities and excursions including adventures on the owner’s boat, guided walks, and wine & olive oil tastings—most at no additional charge. From the hotel, a 10-minute walk down Via dei Mulini brings you to the beach, with its bars, cafés, and restaurants strung out along the dark sand. You can use Positano as a base for exploring the other towns on the Amalfi Coast by road or sea.
